I think a quick tour of what is considered Women's Studies is in order to help explain the media apoplexy generated by the existence of Gov. Palin - much less her presence on the political stage.
Women's Studies is taught in an environment which considers Gender Studies, Gay/Lesbian Studies, and African-American Studies to be critical parts of any curriculum. One who has pursued such a course of study will have the outlook that a women who is successful in contemporary history is so due to her own study of these topics; her success is recognized by her peers as a function of her ability to advance her life in coordination with the advancement of these topics as genuine and generative.
Such an outlook will not allow a person to recognize a woman like Gov. Palin as successful within the structure used by that person to define success. However, that person cannot but observe that Gov. Palin is successful; that her success is genuine, and that her life is generative.
She creates.
These stammering fools in the media/academia are now unable to ignore the inconsistency of their internal structure with that which is real, which has being. Faced which such a fatal inability to reconcile that which they know with that which is real causes a nightmarish discord. Their options are 1) acknowledge the incorrectness of their internal structure or 2) destroy that which is inconsistent with their internal structure.
It appears the majority have chosen to destroy that which causes discord - Gov. Palin.

The 11th on the 12th
Seven years ago a message was sent - the party is over. Following the attacks of 9/11 the pursuit of a life that does not have as a central thread the defeat of those who would do such a thing must be thought of as either evidence of a broken individual or as evidence of an individual who at the least by passivity aides and abets the enemy.
Anyone living a good life, working in a field which helps other people, is working to defeat those who are evil.
The world is a better place than it was seven years ago. The enemy has graciously defined his person. What we can see, we can shoot, what we can shoot, we can kill. The enemy makes himself quite easy to see. It is up to us to shoot.
There is nothing more satisfying than to see the enemy destroyed. Let's keep at it!

Looking Forward
Case: Senator Obama wins the election. American Blacks will be overjoyed and will view the occasion as explicit license for a display of exultant rapacious thuggery. Academics will view it as a mandate to further pursue their work of splitting parent from child. Homosexuals will view it as reason to continue working to destroy the family.
Case: Senator McCain wins the election. American Blacks will be in emotional chaos resulting in inchoate but locally directed violence. Academics and homosexuals will experience emotional shock.

Who is Barack Obama?
Barack Obama is the public face of misogynist, Maoist, homosexual nominalism.
Misogyny in his unrelenting attack on women as woman; instead of arguing differences in position or capability with Senator Clinton the main line of attack was on her womanhood. Governor Palin now faces attacks on her physical beauty and her motherhood.
Maoist in his art, visually a derivation of Chinese Communist propaganda. Rational thought is meant to be lost in this propaganda, the pain of choice replaced by a certitude free of that which is most certain in life - volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity.
Homosexual nominalism in his history, his education, his family, his selection of counsel. A history of nominalism - for how can one with no father and a mother in the line of Saul Alinsky be anything else? Homosexuality as evidenced by those who are his most ardent disciples - the "thrill going up the leg" of Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann is sexual in nature.
